The Georgia Aquarium
You may have been to an aquarium before, but have you been to the largest aquarium in the entire Western Hemisphere? This aquarium has more than 10 million gallons of water and at its opening held the world record for housing the most marine life of any other aquarium in the world. Needless to say, it is incredible and impressive. If you are in the area, then you and your family definitely won’t want to miss it — especially if you or the kids are big fans of sea-life.
The World of Coca-Cola
Georgia is the birthplace of beverage titan Coca-Cola. One of the fun activities you can enjoy if you are visiting Georgia is the World of Coca-Cola tour! It is great fun for the whole family, reasonably priced, and gives you an entirely new look on all your favorite beverages! You can try more than 100 different beverages from all over the world and even meet the polar bear mascot. When you visit Georgia, we recommend stopping by and taking a tour. You’ll even get to drink tons of free soft drinks.
Museums sometimes get a bad rep. Television shows and movies all seem to make it sound like museums are boring places that you should avoid going to. This couldn’t be further from the truth! Museums have been around for as long as they have for good reason. They are fun and creative places where you can explore and learn about the fascinating world we live in. And, not to brag, we think Georgia has some of the most fun museums around! Here in Georgia, you can find museums like:
The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center
The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center highlights the historical value of the boots-on-the-ground soldier. The museum has an expansive collection of military artifacts and memorabilia gathered throughout the ages but is really focused on telling the story of the people themselves. Learn why the men and women who served make the choices they do and how they become the national heroes they are today. The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center is a must-visit location when traveling to Georgia.
The Savannah District in Georgia is considered the country’s largest historical landmark and is one of the main attractions in the state. The district is alive with amazing culture, food, historic buildings, beautiful landscapes, and much more. Should you decide to take one of the many tours available, there are fun activities catered to visitors of all ages. There are tons of shops, restaurants, bars, and more to explore as you stroll down the historic city streets. Not to mention if you decide to go with a tour, your guide can tell you all about the historical significance of the area and how it contributes to the state and the country as a whole.
Last but certainly not least, our favorite activity in Georgia is of course boating! Since we are a boat club in Buford, we may be a little biased, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have an amazing time speeding across the water in a speed boat, chugging along in a pontoon boat with the family, or enjoying an evening on the water with one of our fishing boats! With a Freedom Boat Club membership, you can use any of the boat share boats available at any Freedom Boat Club location across the country — including Freedom Boat Club in Buford! In the state of Georgia alone, there are more than three different Freedom Boat Club locations available for you to have a fun day of boating with your family while on vacation!
